“Bond. James Bond.” Patrick Gibson Discusses What It Was Like To Play James Bond in ‘007 First Light’ in New Dev Video

007 First Light launches next week, bringing a thrilling new James Bond adventure from the developers of the Hitman franchise (a perfect match). Ahead of its release, IO Interactive has shared an interview with Patrick Gibson, the actor portraying this younger, still-aiming-to-prove-himself version of the iconic spy.

007 First Light is an upcoming action-adventure game developed and published by IO Interactive. Based on the iconic James Bond franchise, it is set early in the career of the iconic secret agent as he first joins the 00 program. The game will blend stealth mechanics and gunplay, with special gadgets, fast vehicles, and action-packed scenes. The game promises to let players use their tools and wits to approach missions in various ways.

James Bond is a long-running media franchise created by Ian Fleming. Focused on the titular James Bond, aka “007,” a British secret service agent, the series began as a series of novels before being adapted into numerous movies, shows, radio dramas, comics, and more. At the time of writing, there have been 25 main James Bond movies.

007 First Light will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam on May 27, 2026, with the digital deluxe edition available one day early.
