Tephlon Funk is an action-packed story that is raw, honest, real, and unapologetically New Yorkian, and we love it! An indie comic created by Stephane Metayer and illustrated by David Tako, Tephlon Funk! is the story of a teenage girl who finds her life taking a huge and strange twist!
A 100% independent comic, it has featured the work of numerous artists over the years. Set in NYC in the 90s, it tells the story of a teenage girl who finds her life changed when she becomes tangled up in something much bigger than her. The series was inspired by anime and hip hop, blending the two into a genre-spanning series that we just can put down.
Many of the covers take inspiration from iconic pieces of media.
Tephlon Funk even features a soundtrack featuring music from the iconic Fat Jon (well known for being a part of the production team that scored the music for Samurai Champloo).

You can pick up issues of the comic, check out the soundtrack, and get the latest updates by heading to the official Tephlon Funk site. Follow them on Twitter and Instagram to see when they will appear at a convention near you.
