“Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop,” the latest anime film to come from director Kyohei Ishiguro, has gotten its first trailer!

Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop follows a boy, who has difficulty talking to others, and the shy girl who wears a mask to hide her braces that she meets. Their connection growing stronger throw sharing music and messaging each other, it is a unique yet relatable, presented beautifully through colorful art and vibrant animation.

The film is by Japanese animation studios Signal.MD and Sublimation. Directed by Ishiguro, the film was written by Dai Sato, with the character designs by Yukiko Aikei. The film will also celebrate Japanese Film/Theater company Flying Dog’s 10 year anniversary.
Words Bubble Up Like Soda will be released to Japanese theaters on May 15. No information yet on a possible western release.
