As reported by GameIndustry.biz, Sony’s PlayStation will be skipping this year’s E3, making this the second year in a row that they will not be participating at an E3 conference.
As told to GameIndustry.biz by a Sony Interactive Entertainment Spokesperson:
“We have great respect for the ESA as an organization, but we do not feel the vision of E3 2020 is the right venue for what we are focused on this year.”

They then went on to detail their plan to hold smaller events throughout the year, building off the strengths that the smaller Sony held community events had last year. It will be interesting to see how this may affect the release excitement for the PlayStation 5, and if this will let Xbox’s upcoming console, gain more traction.
We will just have to wait and see.
