Fans of books and good conversation, rejoice! The latest project to hit Japanese crowdfunding site Makuake is the Kabuki-cho Book Center.
Book store meets host/hostess club, patrons can purchase love themed books while engaging in pleasant chat and discussions of literature.
Tezuka Maki, chairman of the Smappa! Group (which already operates host clubs, bars, and restaurants in the proposed area) notes the appeal is for its guests to be able to discuss books at length, exchange ideas, and be entertained by the company of its staff. The book center will be a community space where not only can fans of literature meet, but events for book fans can be held.
Like many crowdfunded projects, there are quite a few backer rewards including the ability to recommend a book for the club, a card filled with messages from the host, or a exclusive invitation to the centers launch. It seeks 5,000,000 Yen ( $45,715 in the U.S.) and seems along the track to reach that goal given contributor support.
