@ Anime NYC 2026 – Netflix Brings Cyberpunk, One Piece, Sakamoto Days, and More To Anime NYC!

Netflix has brought an all-star lineup of can’t-miss anime title announcements and sneak peeks to this year’s Anime NYC, including new shows, returning series, and a highly anticipated sequel!

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 – October 20th

Get ready, Edgerunner, cause you’re heading back to Night City! Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, the highly anticipated follow-up to 2022’s Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and a standalone tie-in to the game Cyberpunk 2077, has gotten an absolutely action-packed teaser trailer, giving our first look at its story of a washed-up Edgerunner, a killer netrunner, and the journalist chronicling it all. Produced by anime studio Trigger and Cyberpunk 2077 developer/publisher CD Projekt Red, Edgerunners 2 will be a 10-episode story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077.

LEGO ONE PIECE – September 29th

Hear the true story of the Straw Hat Pirates’ journey (from Usopp’s point of view) in LEGO One Piece, a 2-part animated special told from the point of view of Usopp, recounting the tale of his bravery and triumphs during the Straw Hat’s adventures. We make no promises of the authenticity of his story. This announcement featured an appearance from Netflix’s live-action One Piece star Jacob Romero Gibson, who, alongside the other live-action Straw Hat Pirate actors, will repriese his role for this charming and funny story.

Blue Eye Samurai Season 2 – January 2027 / Season 3 Announcement

Blue Eye Samurai is set to continue its emmy award-winning story of vengeance next year, with news about season 2’s January 2027 premiere and the announcement of a third and final season. Blue Eye Samurai is a historical action sereies created and written by Amber Noizumi and Michael Green. Set in Japan during Japan’s Edo period, it follows Mizu, a half-Japanese woman seeking revenge against several foreign men, one she has deep ties to.

Bass X Machina – November 3rd

Adventure in an old west steampunk world is on the way from the studio behind Devil May Cry and Brian Tyree Henry, and it looks amazing! Bass X machina is a new series from acclaimed actor Brian Tyree Henry and Studio. A steampunk western where one lawman’s desire for justice will put him and everything he cheerish’s at risk. This exciting series will feature an all star cast and staff, including the voice work of Cree Summer

Fool Night – All Episodes Streaming on Thursday, November 26th

Netflix has released a second teaser trailer for the anime adaptation of Fool Night. Based on the manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Kasumi Yasuda, Fool Night is directed by Atsushi Yukawa, with the series being the first collaboration between iconic animation studios Sunrise and Shaft. Set on an alternate Earth is encased in thick cloud cover that kills plants and leaves humans struggling for oxygen, some people sign up for a process that turns people into plants in exchange for large sums of money. When the hopeless Toshio Kamiya begins the treatment, he discovers a special gift, one that can bring light to the dark world he lives in. The series will leave you asking “could you still pursue your dreams in a world that wants to rob you of hope?”

Fool Night – Interview With Creators via Netflix

Netflix also shared a video featuring interviews with Fool Night director Atsushi Yukawa, Sunrise animation director Yoshihiro Iwata, and Shaft animation producer Ryusuke Suzuki.

SAKAMOTO DAYS Season 2 – January 2027

The world’s best dad/husband/hitman is returning next year, and Netflix has shared a new character trailer offering a look at the allies and enemies coming in season 2! Sakamoto Days is an action comedy series based on the manga of the same name written and illustrated by Yuto Suzuki. It is the story of a retired legedanry hitman, and how his quiet family life is interuptted when powerful figures from his past return. Season 2 of the anime is directed by Daisuke Nakajima, with animatiion by TMS Entertainment.

THE ONE PIECE – February 2027

THE ONE PIECE, a brand new way to experience the story of One Piece, has gotten a new key art and details about its release. A new seven epsiode adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s world-famous manga series, THE ONE PIECE’s first season will be a retelling of the first 50 manga chapters. It is directed by Masashi Koizuka, with Hideaki Abe as assistant director, the series will featureseries composition by Taku Kishimoto, character design & chief animation direction by Kyoji Asano & Takatoshi Honda, creature designs by Yasuhiro Kajino, prop designs by Eri Taguchi, action animation by Ken Imaizumi, Shuhei Fukuda, art direction by Tomonori Kuroda, Ryoma Kawamura as animation producer, and animation by WIT STUDIO.

An absolute spectacular line up of titles heading to the streaming platform. The Netflix Anime NYC panel kept the crowd (including us) very hyped! Stay tuned to Netflix to check these and other titles out!
