See which LEGO action franchise comes out on top when Bionicle‘s Toa Tahu faces off against Ninjago‘s Kai.
Bionicle was a line of LEGO construction toys and figures themed around characters who used powerful masks to gain elemental powers. Bionicle had its story told not just through toys, but also through animated movies, comics, books, games, and more.
LEGO Ninjago is a line of elemental ninja-themed sets. Focusing a group of teenage ninja “elemental masters” who utilize the art of “spinjitzu” to fight dangerous threats in their world. It has a sequel series, Ninjago: Dragons Rising, and has tie-in TV series, games, movies, books, comics, and more.
Death Battle is a web series in which fictional characters are pitted against each other, beginning with a research-based look at the characters’ abilities and histories, followed by an animated fight sequence that uses the data to determine the outcome. The series has become a fun example of that classic nerd argument about who would win in a fight. The series’ future was at risk after the closure of its parent company, Rooster Teeth. Death Battle is now crowdfunded and supported through Kickstarter and YouTube memberships, and is owned by its co-creators.
Kai vs Toa Tahu will premiere on August 23rd on YouTube.
