The long-awaited fourth season of the anime series Overlord will premiere this July, and fans can get a look at the much-loved isekai thanks to its latest trailer.
Overlord is based on a novel series of the same name by Kugane Maruyama. It tells the story of an MMORPG player who, after staying signed in during the shutdown of his favorite game, finds himself transported into it. Trapped in the form of his game avatar, a large skeletal overlord, he attempts to discover why he finds himself in this world and if any other players are out there. The anime series is directed by Naoyuki Itō, written by Yukie Sugawara, with music by Shūji Katayama. Animation is by Madhouse.
Season 4 of Overlord will premiere in July 2022. You can stream seasons 1-3 by heading to Crunchyroll. While there, you can check out Isekai Quartet, an anime crossover series featuring chibi versions of popular isekai anime characters.
