The epic retelling of an anime classic is approaching its final chapters, as the final two films in the live-action Fullmetal Alchemist movie trilogy are being released later this year.
The final two films, Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter – The Avenger Scar and Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter – The Last Transmutation, will close out the live-action film adaptation of the popular anime series, following the first film that released in 2017. The films star Ryosuke Yamada as Edward Elric, Rie Kugimiya as Alphonse Elric, Tsubasa Honda as Winry Rockbell, and Dean Fujioka as Roy Mustang.
Fullmetal Alchemist began as a manga series written and illustrated by Hiromu Arakawa and published by Enix (later Square Enix) in 2001. The series follows the Elric brothers on a journey to find the legendary philosopher stone and return their bodies to normal. The manga was immensely well. It would receive two anime adaptions, two theatrical movies, a live-action movie, video games, and more! The manga series recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, with the original anime adaption’s 20th anniversary happening in 2023.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter – The Avenger Scar will be released in Japan on May 20, 2022, with Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter – The Last Transmutation releasing on June 24.
You can stream the Fullmetal Alchemist anime series by heading over to Crunchyroll.
