Pirate roll-call! The cast for the upcoming live-action One Piece adaption has been revealed, and they seem excited!
The first season looks like it will include just the initial batch of Straw Hats, the cast is made up of Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji.
As noted by One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda on twitter via Netflix, the preliminary work on the One Piece live-action series is nearly completed. Slated for its first season to run for 10 episodes, Oda will be the executive producer. The series is coming from Tomorrow Studios, the same force helping with the Live-Action Cowboy Bebop. No word has been given yet on where and when the series takes place in the One Piece narrative.
Some fans are excited following the amazing first season of Netflix’s adaption of The Witcher, others find themselves nervous following the streaming services other attempts at adapting anime (their version of Death Note).
There has been much love for the Japanese commercials featuring live-action versions of the Straw Hat pirates, so who knows? This may be a treasure in waiting.

The series has no release date.
