The latest guest announced by Anime NYC powered by Crunchyroll and SUNRISE to be attending this year’s Anime NYC is a true legend of the industry. The creator and director of the original Mobile Suit Gundam television series, Yoshiyuki Tomino will be attending Anime NYC as not just a very special guest, but in part to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam.
Mobile Suit Gundam began its original run in 1979 and since then has become a cultural touchstone that goes beyond anime, dipping into movies, video games, manga, and its popular Gunpla model building figures that have sold over 500 million models and counting.
