A Japanese Idol Group Tried To Sell Their Used Bath Water for $900 A Bottle

Japanese Idol group collectibles can get weird

There have been some weird items for sale since the start of the internet, especially when they are attached to a specific fandom. But the Japanese Idol group, The Banana Monkeys wanted to sell used bath water.

Following group members Asuka Rei and Tenka no Chanyuki recording and uploading a video of themselves taking a fully clothed bath in water made purple by expensive bath powder, they later put bottles from that bath for sale online for roughly ¥100,000 (roughly $900) a bottle.

The group claiming that the bath powder was very expensive and that this was a move to recover some of the money spent on it.

The water was listed on a second-hand online store for ¥100,000 before the listing was removed. It has not been made clear yet if it sold out or was taken down following voiced concerns over how hygienic the water was.

Regardless of its state, it is a sure thing that some fans out there would have bought it.
