As reported by the BBC, Sony has released a statment due to the growing concerns and outrage in regards to locking Epic Game Fortnite accounts that have been used on the PS4, from working on other consoles.
Sony’s statement to the BBC:
“We’re always open to hearing what the PlayStation community is interested in to enhance their gaming experience,” it said.
“With… more than 80 million monthly active users on PlayStation Network, we’ve built a huge community of gamers who can play together on Fortnite and all online titles.”
“We also offer Fortnite cross-play support with PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices, expanding the opportunity for Fortnite fans on PS4 to play with even more gamers on other platforms.”
“We have nothing further to add beyond this at this point,”

An answer that has just furthered the anger for some who were hoping to use their accounts on the newly released Nintendo Switch version of Fortnite. Sony’s reluctance to have cross-play with other consoles seems to be a standing point for it. Some hope though that this may change for the next console generation.
