Bringing Back the Classics – Xbox One Begins Original Xbox Compatibility

Time to relive the classics of the first generation of Xbox. Are you ready?

Microsoft has always thought about its fans and faithful followers with every console they made. When the Xbox One released its Xbox 360 backwards compatibility program, everybody went crazy and rejoiced. Now, Microsoft is bringing every generation together with its newest announcement: Original Xbox Compatibility.

During Microsoft’s portion of E3 2017, they announced that the Xbox One will have Original (OG) Xbox compatibility and will function the same way like the Xbox 360 compatibility; Xbox owners will be able to download the game directly or will be able to insert the game disk if they still have it. As of October 24th, Microsoft kept their word and has released the first wave of games added to the Backwards Compatibility list. Although it’s only it’s starting with 13 games, it’s only the beginning of a large collection sure to be relived on current-gen consoles.

The first wave of Original Xbox Games are:

  • Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
  • Ninja Gaiden Black
  • Crimson Skies: High Road to Heaven
  • Fuzion Frenzy
  • Psychonauts
  • Sid Meier’s Pirates!
  • Grabbed by the Ghoulies
  • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
  • BloodRayne 2
  • Red Faction II
  • Dead to Rights
  • King of Fighters NeowaveOG Xbox Snip
