Christmas in Japan is focused more on lovers and romance than it is family and gift giving, and a trend hitting the country just in time is furisode kimonos being turned into wedding dresses.
A furisode is a dress traditionally purchased for a woman by her parents to show she is of marrying age. So what better a symbol of getting married? Oriental Wasou offers to do it in 10 minutes. They simply fold down the long sleeves to the side and turn the obi into the dresses bodice.
The effect makes for a combination of eastern patterns and western design; a elegant marriage in it’s own way.
