Lanterns, HBO’s Green Lantern Series, Has Gotten A New Teaser Trailer and August 16 Premiere Date

Lanterns, HBO Max‘s upcoming live-action series based on the DC Comics Green Lantern Corps, has gotten a new teaser trailer ahead of its summer release.

Lanterns is a superhero TV series based on the Green Lantern characters Hal Jordan and John Stewart and set in the current DC cinematic universe. The series will follow the pair as they investigate a murder on Earth and feature a more detective-focused story. Lanterns is created by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King. It will star Kyle Chandler, Aaron Pierre, Kelly Macdonald, and Nathan Fillion.

Green Lantern is the name of several superheroes in DC Comics who use powerful rings to fight enemies and keep peace and order across the galaxy. Considered a staple of the superhero genre, the title has seen many members and holders play major roles in numerous story arcs. Nathan Fillion’s recent portrayal of the rough and rude Guy Gardner in Superman (2025) has received widespread acclaim.

Lanterns premieres on HBO Max on August 16th.
