JUMP MV, Shueisha’s music video series pairing their published manga with Japanese music, continues with a new video matching Gintama with the song “Sanzen” by the rock band Super Beaver!
Super Beaver was formed in 2005 and has had their music used in Naruto, Barakamon, My Hero Academia, and Tokyo Revengers. “Sanzen,” the song featured in the video, is a new release from the group, released on February 11.
Gintama is an action-adventure comedy series written and illustrated by Hideaki Sorachi and published by Shueisha in Weekly Shōnen Jump, which ran from 2003 to 2019. Set in an alternate-history late-Edo period, following a devastating defeat at the hands of aliens, Japan’s shogun surrenders to the aliens and bans the carrying of swords in public. The series follows the exploits of the samurai Gintoki Sakata and his allies as they take on odd jobs to pay their rent, while a dark threat looms over humanity.
