‘The Legend of Hei 2’ gets official trailer and September 5th North American theatrical premiere date

GKIDS has posted an official trailer for animated action sci-fi fantasy film The Legend of Hei 2 ahead of its September 5th release.

“When an attack shatters the fragile peace between the spirit world and humanity, Hei teams up with Luye, the last disciple of his Shifu Wuxian, to expose a conspiracy that threatens both realms – and the bond they’ve sworn to protect.”

The Legend of Hei 2 is the sequel to the 2019 film The Legend of Hei, both serving as prequels to The Legend of Luo Xiaohei, a flash animation and webtoon series developed by the artist MTJJ. The first film focused on Xiaohei, a spirit trying to find his place amongst other spirits and humans; the sequel will continue his story, as the human and spirit worlds are put in danger because of a dark conspiracy.

The Legend of Hei 2 is directed by MTJJ and Gu Jie, written by MTJJ, Fengxishenlei, and Kexin Peng, and features hand-drawn animation with production by HMCH.
