Ultraman is hard at work caring for the adorable baby kaiju Emi in the latest preview for the upcoming film Ultraman: Rising.
Ultraman is focused on a race of aliens called Ultras, fighting to protect the earth from other aliens and destructive kaiju. The series was created by Eiji Tsuburaya alongside Kazuho Mitsuta, Tetsuo Kinjo, and Tohl Narita. First starting in 1966, the series has gone on to be a pop culture staple, currently sitting as one of the highest-grossing media franchises of all time, it has inspired countless other creators around the world.
Ultraman: Rising is the 44th film in the franchise and follows Ken Sato as he balances life between being a famous baseball player, Ultraman, and taking care of a baby kaiju. The film is directed by Shannon Tindle, who also wrote the film alongside Marc Haimes. The English language cast includes Christopher Sean, Gedde Watanabe, Tamlyn Tomita, Keone Young, and Julia Harriman. The Japanese language cast stars Yuki Yamada, Fumiyo Kohinata, Ayumi Tsunematsu, Fumihiko Tachiki, Akari Hayami, Hiroko Sakurai, and Takaya Aoyagi. Ultraman: Rising is co-produced between Netflix Animation and Tsuburaya Productions, with animation by Industrial Light & Magic.
Ultraman: Rising premieres June 14th on Netflix.
