Creator Adi Shankar has given excited fans a sneak peek at the upcoming anime adaptation of Devil May Cry, teasing stunning visuals and plenty of action.

Devil May Cry is an action-adventure series created by Hideki Kamiya and published by Capcom. It focuses on the Demon Hunter Dante as he faces off against repeated demonic threats to the world. Devil May Cry would go on to gain acclaim for its combat-style system, captivating story, and over-the-top fights.

The series got an anime adaptation in 2007 titled Devil May Cry: The Animated Series, a 12-episode series directed by Shin Itagaki, produced by Madhouse, and featured writing from Bingo Morihashi, one of the writers for the third and fourth games.

The first season of Netflix’s anime adaptation will reportedly have eight episodes, with the series running for five seasons total. It will feature a planned crossover with Netflix’s Castlevania series (which Adi Shankar also created).

Devil May Cry will premiere “soon” on Netflix.
