The Disney Channel is celebrating its 40th birthday this month! (And yes, 80s/90s kids, you’re old now)

2023 marks a major milestone for The Disney Channel, as it celebrates its 40th birthday later this month!

The Disney Channel first launched in April 1983 as the TV programming branch of The Walt Disney Company; it broadcasted family television and original Disney movies. It would be its Disney Channel Original series and Disney Channel Original Movies that it would begin to release in the late 90s and the early 2000s that would help give it the place it has in 90s kid’s nostalgia and a staple for the children who enjoy it now.

Disney Channel has been celebrating 40 years of entertainment by posting special videos and running a “NEW and OLD Throwback” marathon.

As well as an adorable animation where the channel’s iconic characters from both their live-action and animated series/movies.

Happy Birthday, Disney Channel! Thanks for the memories, and we hope you keep showing kids amazing adventures and fun series.
