This Valentine’s Day, celebrate by watching Kaguya-sama: Love Is War – The First Kiss That Never Ends as it heads to theaters thanks to Crunchyroll Movie Nights and Fandango!
“Shuchiin Academy’s student council room, the place where Student Council Vice President Kaguya Shinomiya and President Miyuki Shirogane met. After a long battle in love, these two geniuses communicated their feelings and, at the Hoshin Festival, had their very first kiss. However, there was no clear confession of love. The relationship between these two, who assumed they would be a couple, remains ambiguous. Now, overly conscious of their feelings, they must face the biggest challenge yet: Christmas. It’s Shirogane who wants it to be perfect versus Kaguya who pursues the imperfect situation. This is the very “normal” love story of two geniuses and the first kiss that never ends.”

Kaguya-sama: Love Is War is a romantic comedy series that started as a manga written and illustrated by Aka Akasaka. It follows two prestigious high school seniors who, while attracted to each other, are both too proud to admit it. This leads to wild shenanigans and plans as they try to make the other confess first, as doing it would mean they “lost” their love war. The series would go on to get several manga spin-offs, an immensely well received anime adaption, and two live-action movies.
Kaguya-sama: Love Is War – The First Kiss That Never Ends was released in December 2022 in Japan. It was directed by Shinichi Omata, written by Yasuhiro Nakanishi, music by Kei Haneoka, and animated by A-1 Pictures, who all also worked on the anime adaption.
Kaguya-sama: Love Is War – The First Kiss That Never Ends will be in theaters on February 14 & 15. To see what theaters near you are screening it and to grab your ticket, head over to the official site.
You can stream Kaguya-Sama: Love is War over on Crunchyroll.
