Big cuts for the iconic network.

Kotaku has reported that G4TV has laid off 20-30 staff members. Major cuts coming less than a year after the iconic gaming network made its return.

G4TV started as TechTV in 2002 and went off the air in 2014. A television hub for all things gaming and nerdy, the channel is loved by the generation of gamers who grew up with it. Its return last fall had many excited, especially with the revealed involvement of G4TV alumni, including Adam Sessler and Kevin Pereira. Launching as a digital network that gamers could watch on YouTube & Twitch, it brought back channel staples Xplay, Attack of the Show, and Arena, as well as new shows and stars.

Kotaku further reports that the network’s finances during their return haven’t been great, and budget cuts and high demands are being made of the staff.

Our condolences to those who lost their jobs today.
