The ‘Ya Boy Kongming!’ English dub premieres on HIDIVE on September 23rd

The English dub of comedy musical anime series Ya Boy Kongming! will be premiering on HIDIVE later this month!

“The music industry becomes a battlefield when ancient strategist Kongming is transported from historical China to modern Japan. He’ll use military tactics to turn his new friend Eiko into a music star, and together they’ll take the party hotspot of Shibuya by storm! The story is a clever take (and smart twist) on fish-out-of-water and person-out-of-time themes with out-of-this-world results for Ya Boy Kongming!”

Ya Boy Kongming! is written by Yuto Yotsuba, illustrated by Ryō Ogawa, and published by Kodansha. A comedy musical series that imagines Chinese military strategist Zhuge Lian Kongming being reborn as a young man in modern Japan. Kongming meets singer Eiko Tsukimi and uses his military strategist skills to help her achieve her dream of becoming a popular performer. The anime adaption is directed by Shū Honma, written by Yōko Yonaiyama, with music by Genki Hikota, and animation by P.A. Works.

The first episode of the Ya Boy Kongming! English dub will premiere on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 1:00 PM ET (17:00 UTC) on HIDIVE, where you can see its first season in Japanese with English subtitles.
