Anime NYC 2022 has announced that Atelier Arland series character designer Mel Kishida will be joining attending the event as a guest!
“Mel Kishida is an illustrator and character designer from Japan. He is the character designer for the Arland series of Atelier video games: Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland, Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland, and Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland.

Mel Kishida is the original designer and supervisor of the Blue Reflection project, which spans games, mobile, and TV animation. He’s also the character designer for the anime series Hanasaku Iroha and Heaven’s Memo Pad.
Other than being known as a character designer for many popular games and animations, he is also a famous personality in Japan due to his involvement and activities in many fields that go beyond the boundaries of an illustrator. He has appeared on variety shows on TV, cosplayed in Comiket, designed costumes for idol groups, and recently produced his own YouTube channel.”
A fun and exciting guest joining Anime NYC’s amazing lineup. Anime NYC is home to hours of unique industry and fan-run panels alongside screenings, special guests, and hundreds of exhibitors! Mel Kishida will appear on Friday and Saturday. He will appear on panels and will have a single autograph session each day. Previously announced guests include Anne Yatco, Adam McArthur, Johnny Yong Bosch, Ray Chase, and more!
Anime NYC 2022 Powered By Crunchyroll is set for November 18-20 at the Javits Center in Midtown Manhattan. Badges for Friday and Sunday are still available.
