RWBY: Ice Queendom, an upcoming anime series set in the world of RWBY, has gotten a July 3rd premiere date!
RWBY: Ice Queendom is an new original story following the members of Team RWBY. Not set in a different timeline, it is being called canon adjacent, the events taking place during the Beacon Arc of the series after Volume 2, the first two episodes of Ice Queendom will serve as a recap of the story up to that point. It has been noted that the series will give a more prominent story role to Weiss Schnee. RWBY: Ice Queendom is directed by Toshimasa Suzuki & Kenjirou Okada, animation concepts Gen Urobuchi , scriptwriting by Tow Ubukata in charge of script, music composed by Nobuko Toda & Kazuma Jinnouchi, and animation by Shaft.
The series will premiere in Japan on July 3rd, which happens to also be the first day of RTX Austin. An official convention devoted to all things Rooster Teeth (including RWBY). The event will also provide updates on the highly-anticipated RWBY Volume 9.
RWBY: Ice Queendom will stream on Crunchyroll in both English and Japanese with English subs. A manga adaption by Kumiko Suekane will launch on June 27th in ASCII Media Works’s shōnen manga magazine Dengeki Daioh.
