The Live-Stage Production Of ‘Spirited Away’ Has Shown Its First Photos

The classic anime tale heads to the stage!

As reported by Sora News 24, the live-stage adaptation of Spirited Away has posted photos showing its cast in their costumes!

Adapted by John Caird, who was behind the world premiere of Les Misérables, the live show takes the classic anime tale and turns it into a gorgeous stage play. The cast includes Kanna Hashimoto, Mone Kamishiraishi, Park Romi, Mari Natsuki, Daigo Kotaro, Hiroki Miura, Miyu Sakihi, Satoshi Hashimoto, and Romi Park.

Spirited Away was written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki and released in 2001. It follows the story of a young girl traveling with her parents who, after they are turned into pigs, is forced to work in a bathhouse run by a witch. The movie gained critical acclaim around the world for its captivating story and visuals. It won several awards and was the highest-grossing film in Japan for 19 years until its record was broken by Demon Slayer: Kimtesu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train.
