Upcoming anime film “Fruits Basket -prelude-” has gotten a new trailer ahead of its February 18th release, teasing the story of Tohru’s parents falling in love.
Fruits Basket manga was created by Natsuki Takaya in 1998, with the original anime series premiering in 2001. A new anime series would begin in 2019. It follows high school student Tohru Honda, whose life suddenly became filled with despair following a terrible loss. Living in a tent, she comes across the Soma clan and the strange secret that they turn into animals of the Zodiac when hugged by members of the opposite sex! Now living with them, her fortune seems to have turned around.
Fruits Basket -prelude- will not only tell the story of Tohru’s parents falling in love, but also feature an epilogue to Fruits Basket. It premieres on February 18th. No word yet on a western release.
