Alternate history media can make for some of the best stories. Take a famous figure, like abolitionist and political activist Harriet Tubman, and add something bizarre or extra, like if Tubman had to fight evil monsters using bad ass ninja skills. Harriet Tubman Demon Slayer is an indie comic book series written by Kingwood Comics founder David Crownson. The series reimagines Harriet Tubman as a highly-skilled martial artist facing off against demons and monsters who are recruited by slave owners to stop her.
So you know, the perfect story.
Great over-the-top action as Harriet takes out literal demons will have you hooked! Currently, 6 issues are available of Harriet Tubman Demon Slayer. Volume 1, which collects those issues, will be available soon.
The series was so well received that a tv series is currently in development with the involvement of Prentice Penny and Sebastian A. Jones.
