As reported by Comicbook.com, mangaka Hiromu Arakawa, the creator of the iconic Fullmetal Alchemist series, is working on a new fantasy manga series.
The series is called Yomi no Shigai (The Hinge of the Underworld) and will follow the story of young siblings solving the secret of their village.
Fullmetal Alchemist began as a manga series written and illustrated by Hiromu Arakawa and published by Enix in 2001 (later Square Enix). The series follows the Elric brothers on a journey to find the legendary philosopher stone and return their bodies to normal. The manga was immensely well. It would receive two anime adaptions, two theatrical movies, a live-action movie, video games, and more! The series celebrated its 20th anniversary this year.
The popularity of Fullmetal Alchemist will likely mean anime fans expecting big things from this new series, and we can’t wait to see more.
Yomi no Shigai and will debut in Square Enix’s Monthly Shounen Gangan Issue 1/2022 on December 10, 2021.
