Iconic anime series Lupin the Third is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Alongside fun announcements and limited edition merch, a new Lupin the 3rd roundtable discussion from anime brand Sentai celebrated the franchise.
Featuring author/writer Roland Kelts and writer/animation critic Charles Solomon, it’s a great look at the impact of the beloved anime series and character.
Currently celebrating the 50th anniversary of the anime series, Lupin III began as a manga series created by Kazuhiko Katō (better known by his pen name Monkey Punch). The series follows the adventures of master thief Arsène Lupin III, the grandson of Arsène Lupin, the main character of Maurice Leblanc’s series of novels. It has gone on to be one of the most iconic anime series ever made. Released worldwide in multiple languages since the 1970s, it has numerous anime series, theatrical & TV movies, OVAs, music CDs, and more.
