The ‘Pen15’ Animated Special Gets Official Trailer

Hulu’s Pen15 is set to premiere its special animated episode next week, and a new trailer is letting fans get a look at what adventures Anna and Maya next.

“On vacation with Curtis, Anna and Maya are introduced to new crippling insecurities. The girls try to ignore them but a mystical turn makes their self-doubt impossible to forget.”

Pen15 was created by Maya Erskine, Anna Konkle, and Sam Zvibleman, and stars Erskine and Konkle as fictionalized versions of themselves as 13-year middle schoolers in the year 2000. The show has received praise for its comedy and ability to bring up all those cringe memories of being a middle schooler trying a bit too hard to fit in while seeming like you arent trying to fit in. The show’s second season premiered in 2020.

The Pen15 animated special premieres on August 27th on Hulu.
