Japanese gaming publication Famitsu has published its year-end game developer interviews. Gematsu has translated them, and among them were some words from Hideki Kamiya, the creator of the Bayonetta and Devil May Cry franchises and co-founder of PlatinumGames. He spoke about the status of Bayonetta 3 and the studio’s mysterious Project G.G.
“First off, many people are worried about Bayonetta 3 considering there hasn’t been any new information since its announcement, but verifications of new systems have been going great and development is going very well, so please wait with peace of mind. (This is a copy of my 2020 comment.) Also Project G.G. (title tentative) has finally started moving, so please look forward to it.”

Exciting news for fans who have been clamoring for information on both games. Bayonetta 3 was originally revealed to be in development in 2017 and has since not been really heard from. Studio G.G. will be the third and final game in what is being called “Kamiya’s hero trilogy,” which previously included Viewtiful Joe and The Wonderful 101. It was revealed to be in development in February 2020.
The first Bayonetta game was released in 2009. The game quickly gained praise for its over-the-top action and style of the main character. Bayonetta 2 was released in 2014.
Bayonetta 3 will reportedly be released for the Nintendo Switch. Its release date is TBA.
