1,000 chapters is a huge milestone, and everyone’s favorite pirate story, One Piece, is set to hit it next month!
The release of One Piece chapter 1,000 has been set for January 4, 2021, in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump following delays due to the manga’s release after its creator Eiichirō Oda was briefly ill. His staff twitter has been posting color-tinted versions of when each Strawhat pirate crew member was introduced, each counting down to chapter 1000’s release, Starting when the countdown had 10 chapters left!
One Piece started in 1997 and has gone on to be an international sensation. The still on-going anime series currently stands at 954 episodes at the time of writing. It also has 14 films, 24 novels, and over 55 video games.
Congratulations to Eiichirō Oda and his staff! One Piece has been an amazing ride, so it is exciting to see it make it this far. Can’t wait to see what comes next!
