Gears POP!, a real-time strategy game that blended the world of Gears of War with the collectible Funko POP! line, has announced that it will be shutting down in April 2021. The shut down was announced via a press release thanking players:

“Thank you Gears! Together we have taken on countless waves of Horde and vanquished foes on the Versus battlefield but sadly Gears Pop! is closing on April 26, 2021. Until that time, we’re bringing back some of our most popular events, increasing Bounty rewards, and upping the drop rates for Legendary Pins. Effective immediately, in-app purchasing has also been disabled. Thank you for your understanding and support.”

Fans who are concerned about in-game purchases they made are being offered refunds, with all purchases made within the last 90 days of October 28, 2020, will automatically be refunded.

Gears POP! was developed by Mediatonic and published by Xbox Game Studios. Released on August 22, 2019, for PC, Android devices, and iOS devices, the game had two players battle using Funko POP styled versions of the Gears of Wars characters. In its launch week, it had over one million players.

Gears POP! is set to shut down on April 26, 2021.
