One Piece is approaching a very impressive milestone, chapter 1,000 of the manga series, and Shonen Jump is celebrating!
Shonen Jump will be making select chapters of One Piece available to read for free a week at a time, with chapters 1-8 available now!
One Piece’s manga started in 1997 and is written by Eiichiro Oda. With over 97 volumes, it has gone on to become one of the most successful manga franchises, becoming a global sensation. It has an anime adaption with over 900 episodes, over 50 video games, light novels, a trading card game, drama CDs, and more! There is even an upcoming live-action adaption coming from Netflix.
1,000 chapters of a manga is an impressive landmark and One Piece made it a thrilling ride the whole time. The story of Strawhat Luffy and his crew of pirates has been an amazing journey, and it is exciting to see where they head next!
You can celebrate the build-up to chapter 1,000 by heading over to Shonen Jump or by downloading the Shonen Jump App. While Chapters 1-8 are currently free to read, they will soon be placed back in the Shonen Jump digital vault, with a new set of free chapters taking their place. Check Shonen Jump every Wednesday to see what chapters are free to read next!
