Kyoto Animation has announced that on Saturday, July 18, 2020, they will be holding a memorial live-stream on the first anniversary of the tragic arson attack that took the lives of 36 people and injured 34.
Announced via their official site, they originally planned for an open memorial visitation ceremony, This event was canceled in favor of a streamed online memorial due to COVID-19.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation for your continued concern.
It has been almost a year since the incident occurred on July 18 of 2019.
We had been making preparations to hold a memorial visit for all of our friends; however, in light of the current circumstances with the COVID-19, sadly, we had concluded to cancel the event with the aim of prevention of gathering.
Due to these circumstances, we also would like to ask for your refrain in visiting the former site of our 1st Studio. We appreciate your consideration of the transportation system and local residents.
As a substitute, we are going to stream the memorial video on the day on our official YouTube channel online.
