Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate may not want SNK’s Mai Shiranui to join their line-up alongside new addition Terry Bogard, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a devoted fanbase. One so large that the character will be getting her own pop-up shop!
As reported by Sora News 24, The For-All-Ages Mai Shiranui Exhibition is meant to offer all manner of collectibles based on Mai. The name of the shop is meant to be a sort of reply to Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai’s comment on Mai’s exclusion from the game, which he noted was because “Super Smash Brothers Ultimate is for good boys and girls, so we decided not to feature her.”
Opening at The Akihabara Container in Tokyo, the collection is meant to honor the character’s iconic status as one of gamings most popular characters since her 1992 Fatal Fury 2 debut. Nicknamed “The Alluring Ninja Girl,” many fans were upset that she wasn’t in Smash Bros. Ultimate, but are likely to be excited to see all the cool merchandise they can grab!
Set to open on December 26, The For-All-Ages Mai Shiranui Exhibition will end on January 6th. You can see more information here.
