The latest episode of Rooster Teeth’s RWBY had all kinds of twists and turns, but one new update that has fans very excited is for the introduction of RWBY’s first onscreen trans character, May Marigold.

Voiced by Kdin Jenzen, who is trans, it was confirmed through a post on her twitter, that the character is also trans.

Many fans were excited to hear, creating celebratory fan art and thank you posts. Noting that the series’ continued moves of representation of the LGBTQ+ community, makes them feel welcomed, and a part of RWBY’s world.

While some have complained of this being another moment of “forced representation.”

We will say that it is a delight to see such a beloved series, expand and reveal just who lives in this world. Especially someone who looks as cool as May Marigold!

Check out RWBY so that you can join in on the adventures of Ruby, Weiss, Yang, Blake, and their friends, as they face-off against the Grimm. Head over to Rooster Teeth First or VRV, to see the latest episodes, behind the scene special videos, and catch up from the beginning of their journey.
