Nebraska Mother Upset Her Daughter’s School Library Had Dragon Maid Manga

The mother felt it was "inappropriate" for her daughter's Middle School library.

As reported by KETV News, one Nebraska mother found herself very upset with the contents of her daughter’s middle school library, after the 11-year old brought a copy of Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid home to show her.

Miss Konayashi’s Dragon Maid Volume 1
(Coolkyoushinja, Futabasha)

Coolkyoushinja’s manga tale of an office worker and her dragon maid was believed to be inappropriate by the mother. She was shown the book by her daughter, who is reported to also disapprove of it. Their dislike stems from depictions of breasts in the book, discussions of their size, and unspecified swearing.

KETV NewsWatch 7:

The troubled mother proceeded to reach out, feeling like the book should not be held within the school library. School officials have responded to her concerns, saying that they thoroughly check the library materials, and the manga in question is listed as appropriate for young adults.

No matter what happens next, it is clear that the manga available in one library is about to become a bit more scarce.

actually, any person who has read the manga or watched the anime will tell you that even though it has its fair share of titilation jokes, it actually has a pretty wholesome message at its core about accepting people for their differences. the series is mostly about dragons learning to live in peace among humans, even though they all think humans are an inferior species to them. i mean dont get me wrong i think this probably isnt something a middle schooler should be reading either, but i GURANTEE you at least half of the kids that attend that school play grand theft auto or call of duty when they get home from school, and at least those games have a much more negative message its giving than this book. so maybe if youre going to worry about whats ‘inappropriate’ among the people in that school, you should probably get your priorities in order first.
