‘Courage the Cowardly Dog’ Creator Says Prequel In Development

Courage's puppy days.

It seems that one of the ultimate 90s cartoon series will be making a return…hopefully, as John R Dilworth, the creator of Courage the Cowardly Dog, recently revealed in an interview with Tiger Media Network. When asked about the chance of a new Courage the Cowardly Dog series, Dilworth’s discussed a potential prequel series in development with Cartoon Network.

“We are developing a prequel with cartoon network, but we don’t know where it’s going, how its developing.”

Dilworth went on to explain that while he and his team are very excited at the potential creation of a new series, he is keeping his expectations grounded. This is not the first proposed addition to the Courage the Cowardly Dog mythos, the others not seeing completion.

Courage the Cowardly Dog originally ran from 1999 to 2002. It quickly gained a fandom for its surreal and scary aspects that still managed to be enjoyable by audiences of all ages. We share Dilworth’s excitement and hope that we may get to visit Nowhere’s favorite pink dog, once more.
