The original character designer for the anime, Kenji Watanabe is creating custom partner Digimon for a limited number of fans.

Digimon fans have had the chance of a lifetime thanks to the new crowdfunding efforts that Toei Animation has taken. Intending to fund their new Digimon series, the anime studio offered a tier that sold out instantly. The chance to have the original character designer for the anime, Kenji Watanabe design a custom partner Digimon for you.

Using Japanese crowdfunding service, Campfire, the new series met its goal quickly. It was the limited 300,000 yen tier (nearly USD $3,000) that snagged excited fans the chance to make their Digimon dreams come true.

While all the slots are filled, those who want their own Digimon designed by the legend, hope that more slots open up later. The Campfire for the new series continues for the next 40 days, and there are still some cool rewards to get, most importantly helping to bring a new Digimon series to the world.
