After an impressive display of gameplay and graphics at this year’s E3, Square Enix has a bit of shock when it came to the planning for their episodic remake of much-beloved JRPG, Final Fantasy VII.
They are not sure how many episodes it will be.
The E3 2019 Trailer:
While talking to Kotaku’s Jason Schreier, Square Enix producer, Yoshinori Kitase explained that they currently aren’t so sure how many episodes the remake will take to tell its tale.
“We can’t reveal that many details about this,” producer Yoshinori Kitase said when I asked him today how many games will be in the series. We know that the first one is set entirely in Midgar, and that, according to Square Enix, it’s the size of an entire numbered Final Fantasy gameKotaku
It has been reported that the first entry will focus on Midgar and will be the size of a full entry in the long-running series, which is all kinds-of-impressive.
Given the large focus on this one location of the game, fans should be excited to see just what awaits them in this epic reimagining of a classic.
They just may have to wait a bit to experience the whole thing.
The Final Fantasy VII remake is set for a March 3, 2020 release for PlayStation 4.
