As reported by Polygon, Sony Interactive Entertainment America CEO, Shawn Layden, has announced that their E3 conference this year will be done a different way. Layden spoke about it recently in episode 292 of the PlayStation Blogcast Episode.
“The last two or three years, to the careful observer, you’ll see that we continue to try to refresh and remake and reignite what we do at the what used to be called a press conference for E3,” Layden explained. “We want to make sure that it’s fresh and reflects the kind of stories we’re telling and the new entertainment we have to give to our fans, not just at the event, but worldwide with ... streaming.”

While it isn’t made clear what that means, it can be seen that Sony’s new approach will be an all-new interactive experience for fans.
It has been revealed that four titles will be getting some better, in-depth looks as headliners for the event.
- Death Stranding – Kojima Productions
- The Last of Us Part 2 – Naughty Dog
- Ghost of Tsushima – Sucker Punch Productions
- Spider-man – Insomniac games
This alongside 3rd party titles and what are sure to be some great surprise games. It has been made clear there will be no new hardware announcements though, so expect no PS5, PS Vita 2, or PSP Go 2.
Sony’s E3 2018 presentation will be on Monday, June 11th, at 6 pm PST.
