Dragon Quest XI Has Had Its Switch Version Delayed

You have quite the wait ahead of you Nintendo fans...

As reported by GameSpot from PAX East 2018, the western Switch port of Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age has been delayed. While the western PS4 and PC ports will still be coming this September, the Switch version will take a bit longer:

Game Producer Hokuto Okamoto:
“Specifically with regards to the development, this game was developed on the Unreal Engine, but the version for Unreal Engine needs to be updated, I suppose, in order to support Switch. In that sense, the development is still expected to take a very long time. It’s still a long ways out.”

So the Switch version is going to be a while, a thing that some Nintendo fans have voiced disappointment in. But let’s be happy that Square Enix want to release a finely made game rather than one that requires fixing post-release…
