As reported by GameSpot from PAX East 2018, the western Switch port of Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age has been delayed. While the western PS4 and PC ports will still be coming this September, the Switch version will take a bit longer:
Game Producer Hokuto Okamoto:
“Specifically with regards to the development, this game was developed on the Unreal Engine, but the version for Unreal Engine needs to be updated, I suppose, in order to support Switch. In that sense, the development is still expected to take a very long time. It’s still a long ways out.”

So the Switch version is going to be a while, a thing that some Nintendo fans have voiced disappointment in. But let’s be happy that Square Enix want to release a finely made game rather than one that requires fixing post-release…
