Batman day has become a staple of the comic book shop holiday calender, this year sees the caped crusader having his day taken over by super villain Harley Quinn to celebrate her 25th anniversary.
The annual fan-favorite event, now in its fourth year, was first introduced to honor Batman’s 75th anniversary. This year, in honor of Harley Quinn’s 25th anniversary, BATMAN DAY will also feature the immensely popular Clown Princess of Crime who burst into our lives when she debuted on Batman: The Animated Series in 1992.
While some fans seem to be upset about the over-saturation of Harley Quinn in most batman related media, 25 years is still a important mark in any characters career. For those who can make it to one of the participating locations that include libraries, comic book shops, and book retailers, you can snag a Batman/Harley Quinn Activity Kit (If you are unable to make it or want to throw a bit more private celebration, you can download it here). Some of these host locations will also have cosplay contests, comic book give aways, and special sales.
So prepare you mallets and start using the hashtags #BatmanDay and #HarleyQuinn25 because this September 23rd will be the Clown Princess’ Day!
