Between April 2005 and April 2006, one of our all-time favorite anime series, Eureka Seven, aired. The story follows a young man, a group of mecha outlaws, and the mysterious Eureka, blending action, comedy, romance, and mystery. It has now received a new promotional music video featuring the original song “Never Back Down” by Flow.
Eureka Seven is a 2005 action-adventure mecha series created and produced by anime studio Bones. The series follows teenager Renton Thurston, who, after a chance encounter with a mysterious mecha pilot named Eureka (whom he quickly gains feelings for), joins the world-famous outlaw group Gekkostate. Renton finds himself pulled into a conspiracy involving the government, his family, Eureka’s origins, and the history of his world. The series was directed by Tomoki Kyodo, with series composition by Dai Satō, music by Naoki Satō, and character designs by Kenichi Yoshida. The series would later be expanded into several movies and retold in the anime “Hi-Evolution” film series, which continued the story in the sequel series Eureka Seven: AO.
The new PV features the song “Never Back Down,” composed by the rock band Flow specifically for the occasion. The group’s song “Days” is the first opening theme for the series (episodes 1-13).
Eureka Seven is a series that sits very near and dear to our hearts since it first premiered as a part of Adult Swim’s anime block back in the day! If you haven’t checked it out, give it a watch!
