Crunchyroll has announced that the anime adaptation of the psychological thriller Liar Game will premiere on the platform this spring, sharing a new trailer that gives fans their first look.
Liar Game is a manga series written and illustrated by Shinobu Kaitani and published by Shueisha as a part of Weekly Shonen Jump. The series follows the naive Nao Kanzaki, who, after receiving a mysterious package containing 100 million yen, is forced to join the Liar Game Tournament, where contestants must lie, scam, cheat, and steal from one another until only one person is left with money. Recognizing her weaknesses, she teams up with the con man Shinichi Akiyama not only to win but also to free the other players from their date. The series would go on to be adapted into several TV series and films.
The Liar Game anime adaptation is directed by Yuzo Sato (as general director) and Asami Kawano, written by Tatsuhiko Urahata, with music by Yugo Kanno, character designs by Kei Tsuchiya, sub-character designs by Ai Yokoyama, and animation by Madhouse.
