A New Backyard Baseball Game is Coming in July 2026; New Teaser Trailer Reveals 3D Art Style

Backyard Baseball, one of the greatest sports video game franchises, returns this summer. A new teaser trailer highlights returning characters, hilarious moments, and a new 3D art style.

Backyard Baseball is a part of Humongous Entertainment‘s Backyard Sports series. The games are themed after the classic neighborhood game experience from childhood, but at a comedic, over-the-top level. Pick from a wide roster of kids with plenty of personality for your team, pick the logo and name, and set out to become the best in the neighborhood. The series included entries on baseball, basketball, football, and hockey, and would later feature kid versions of famous athletes.

The series recently returned with rereleases of previous entries and an animated special produced by Playground Productions and Lighthouse Studios. The special was directed by Mike Robers, written by Joseph Purdy, and featured the voice work of Ego Nwodim, Tiffany Haddish, Adam Pally, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Ashleigh Crystal Hairston, Chris Mintz-Plasse, Donald Faison, Lindsay Barnett, Deborah Baker Jr., Michael Vlamis, Arturo Castro,

Backyard Baseball (2026), developed by Mega Cat Studios and published by Playground Productions, promises to revive the series’ classic style in a new 3D form, as shown in a trailer featuring returning characters and familiar humorous antics.
